This Week's Day Training Extra Credit: Participate in some awesome canine science! The more we know about dogs, the better job we can do to help them live their best lives with us! Here are two cool studies you can help with from home:
  • Genetics of Obesity in dogs-Complete an online feeding behaviour questionnaire and/or submit a DNA sample (retrievers, pugs, and French & English bulldogs at this time)
  • The Big Play and Motivation Questionnaire for Dogs! Help scientists understand the differences in play and motivation among dogs- whether your dog plays constantly or never, your input is helpful!

Sign me up, please! I am a dog lover and I love to participate in any activity that will benefit dogs. I have three dogs myself and they are all dogs that I have rescued from different missions where I was a part of because I am a volunteer at the animal shelter in our community. My father has always been a dog lover, so I grew up in a home surrounded by many dogs. I knew even when I was still a child that I love dogs with all that I am and that is part of the reason why I want to be a veterinarian. I want to be able to help animals who are in danger and are being neglected of care and love.
